Ltd, the parent company of Planeta TV, a 24 hour Bulgarian music and entertainment network, announced the launch of Planeta TV in the US on Home2US DTH platform. Planeta is the latest to join Home2US' growing neighborhood of international television channels on SES-Americom's AMC-4.

Home2US is providing a series of enhanced broadcast services, including servers designed to eliminate program scheduling issues due to extreme time differences between channel originators and the U.S., local play-out solutions, and local and remote ad insertion capabilities.

"By offering Planeta TV to an estimated 2.5 million people throughout the U.S., Home2US has once again demonstrated its commitment to bringing the choicest of international programming the world has to offer and warmly welcomes Planeta to our growing platform. The launch of Planeta on our platform is also a statement of our leadership position in effectively addressing the needs and appeals of the local communities in the US whose needs long have been neglected. Bulgarians and the people of the Balkans living throughout the US is an excellent example of that. By bringing the most popular music and entertainment channel of Bulgaria and the region to our platform, we will meet another significant market demand," said Emrah Ozkan, president and chief executive officer for Home2US.

"After a full year of looking at the possibilities to offer our highly sought-after programming to the Bulgarians living in North America, and reviewing the available platforms to serve the market in the US, the answer was crystal clear for us. We chose Home2US AMC-4 platform not only to gain a foothold in the vast North American market, but also found an excellent partner in Home2US to distribute our content to the target communities who had a yearning for years to have the ability to receive the most popular music and entertainment channel of the Balkans," said Mitko Dimitrov, the General Manager of the Payner Co. Ltd, the parent of Planeta TV. "We already enjoy having the ability to work with a truly international organization. Home2US supports our business not only via their offices in the US, but also with their established local office in Sofia, Bulgaria which is a tremendous help in coordinating or day to day business with Home2US."

Planeta TV joins 30 other international TV and radio channels that depend on the Home2US/SES AMERICOM platform to import their programming to diverse ethnic audiences throughout North America. In all, Home2US has enlisted three satellite transponders to meet the current demand among global networks and programmers for a reliable and cost-effective way to serve viewers across the U.S. and North America.
